FAQs

Here we have answered some of your most common questions.

Q: What if I already have something in mind for my item?

A: You are welcome to share that information as part of your inquiry, but do keep in mind that we are not traditional custom jewlers and we do not take commissions for other people’s designs. Our pieces are all intuitively created based on your item and the story behind it.

Q: What does it mean for a piece to be “intuitively created”?

Every artist’s work starts with inspiration. Your rock is ours. It’s hard to say where that inspiration will take us, but our passion comes from following the signals from your piece, your story, and your preferences as they reveal themselves to us.

Q: What if you don’t use all of my rock in your piece?

We strive for as little waste as possible. Sometimes, it’s inevitable-but if there is enough product left to be meaningful, we’ll ask you whether you would like us to send it back to you.

Q: What if you can’t make anything out of my rock?

In most cases, we will be able to tell you in advance if we think there will be an issue with your piece. In the rare case that something goes wrong while we’re working on your item, we’ll reach out to you with clear descriptions of the issues and potential solutions.

Q: What if I don’t like the final result?

Since every step of our process is inspired by your story, the odds are incredibly high that if you took your inquiry seriously, you’ll end up with a peice you love. If for some reason you’re not completely satisfied with your piece, we can recommend professional custom jewelers to help you turn it into something closer to what you may have envisioned.

Q: What timeline can I expect for receipt of my finished piece?

We’ll discuss timeline with you once we receive your inquiry. Some items can be completed very quickly (delivered in two to three weeks) other items will call for multiple, complex techniques that each require planning, learning, execution, and combining. We will talk about which category your piece falls into before you send your item(s).
